Glasgow Summer Sessions Headliners, The 1975, come out on top at The Brit Awards 2019
The 1975 celebrated a double win at the Brits last week, joining them was Calvin Harris who did the same with George Ezra and Jorja Smith taking home awards of their own.
Who were the winners of the 2019 Brit Awards?
Kicking off the show, TRNSMT headliner George Ezra took home the first big win of the night - British Male Solo Artist. Soon joining him was Jorja Smith who took home British Female Solo Artist. Not only this but both acts featured as performers at The Brits, performing their singles “Shotgun” and “Don’t Watch Me Cry”.
However despite this, arguably the biggest winners of the night were Glasgow Summer Sessions headliners, The 1975, who not only bagged Brtish Group but also British Album of the Year for their newest release, “A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships”. The group even performed their newest single, “Sincerity is Scary” with the stage being set up to look like the music video even down to the hat Healy wears.

Calvin Harris also managed a double win, this is the first time Harris has ever taken home a Brit award despite being nominated up to 16 times previously. The Scottish DJ and producer took home Best British Single for his song “One Kiss” with Dua Lipa and British Producer of the Year.
Winners not present included Best International Female and Male Ariana Grande and Drake, International Group The Carters and Ed Sheeran who took home the Global Success Award. All of which were present to accept the award via a pre-recorded message.
