Make planning your journey much easier using our Travel Planner. Select the event you are attending and where you are travelling from, and it will give you the most sustainable options to get you there and back! 

Edinburgh Summer Sessions travel map for the Royal Highland Centre showing entrances, public transport, parking, pick-up and drop-off areas, and walking routes. North, West and East entrances are marked, alongside North, West, Silver and accessible car parks. Bus stops on Glasgow Road and Ingliston Road are shown for Citylink and other services, with a Lothian Buses 98 shuttle and coach drop-off area to the north. Walking routes connect the venue with Ingliston Park & Ride and tram station, the bus hub and airport, Ratho, and the East pick-up/drop-off area. The map also marks taxi areas, bike parking, security and search points, and vehicle entry and exit routes.

Scotrail operates regular services to Edinburgh Waverley and Haymarket Train Stations. From there you can then take a Lothian 98 bus directly to the venue, or a tram (Haymarket only currently) to Ingliston Park & Ride. 

Scotrail also operates regular services to Edinburgh Gateway or Edinburgh Park train stations. From here you can then take the tram to Ingliston Park & Ride.

Trams will run every 7-10 minutes to bring you to the event.

The nearest tram stop to the Royal Highland Showgrounds is Ingliston Park & Ride, approximately a 10-15 minute walk from the venue. A free shuttle bus will operate between Ingliston Park & Ride and the event site throughout the event. This journey takes approximately 5-10 minutes. 

Please note: Edinburgh Trams are currently operating a reduced service between Edinburgh Airport, Ingliston Park & Ride, Haymarket, and the West End. 

Trams are not currently operating between the West End and the City Centre, so fans travelling from the City Centre or the east of Edinburgh will need to use an alternative method to reach the West End before continuing their journey by tram, or use alternative public transport.

Lothian Buses run frequent services with stops near the venue from Edinburgh City Centre to Edinburgh Airport. They also operate a dedicated service for the event - the 98 - which operates frequently between George St and the venue. Please visit the Lothian Buses website to plan your journey. 

Citylink operate several services that stop along the A8; within a few minutes’ walk of the venue. You can find timetables on the Citylink website.  

Happy Bus are running services from across Scotland to/from the venue. This service must be pre-booked. For timings, tickets & more info visit the Happy Bus website.

There are several park and rides operating in and around Edinburgh. Visit The City of Edinburgh Council website for information on the park and rides in Edinburgh.  

Edinburgh Summer Sessions operates two designated Pick-Up and Drop-Off locations to help visitors arrive and leave safely and efficiently.

  • West Pick-Up & Drop-Off: Access via Lochend Road

  • East Pick-Up & Drop-Off: Access via Eastfield Road (also serves taxis and private hire vehicle collections)

Please follow event signage and the directions of our event staff when arriving or leaving the site.

Please only use the designated Pick-Up & Drop-Off locations and not nearby roads or businesses to ensure traffic keeps moving and everyone can get to and from the event safely. 

Parking is available at the Royal Highland Showgrounds. Car park tickets cost £15 and must be purchased in advance via Ticketmaster which you can find here.

The event has dedicated parking, and a designated pick-up and drop-off point for accessible fans. 

Fans with accessibility requirements can request accessible parking at the venue. This must be prearranged with the event's Accessibility Team.
